World Sepsis Congress 2021 is a project by the Global Sepsis Alliance, initiator of World Sepsis Day and World Sepsis Congress.

From June 15 to 18, the ESPNIC 2021 Congress will take place as an Online Xperience, and not in person in Athens as previously planned – simply due to the current strain on everybody’s professional and personal schedules making traveling to Athens an enormous challenge for us all.

The ESPNIC Executive Committee seeks to ensure that the ESPNIC community can come together in 2021 with equal opportunity to access the program, wherever they are located. Therefore, it has been decided that ESPNIC 2021 Xperience will be transformed into an interactive online experience.

There will be a 4-day live schedule of demonstrations, deep-dive discussions, latest trial results, keynote lectures, and Q&A with the speakers. A menu of sessions will be available on VOD throughout the congress days and for an extended period of 3 months after the congress. All live sessions will be added to the VOD library for you to re-watch on your schedule. In addition, ESPNIC will be launching ESPNIC TV bringing you to live moderated conversations from our TV studio. Interviews with principal investigators, interactive panel discussions, and more.

The virtual platform will also host a virtual ESPNIC Hub for all things related to the ESPNIC society, the new education portal, virtual exhibition hall, product theater, science on the bar, etc.

ESPNIC believes that ESPNIC 2021: An Online Xperience will bridge the distance currently felt between us and help you and your team enter into 2021 with confidence – we hope to see you online for an ESPNIC Xperience like no other!

Join the Group B Strep in Pregnancy and Babies Virtual Conference on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021 to get right up-to-date with the key issues on group B Strep during pregnancy, labour and the early months after a baby’s birth. This is a must-see event for anyone interested in group B Strep.

Group B Strep is the most common cause of severe infection in newborn babies in the UK and many other developed countries, causing sepsis, pneumonia or meningitis, and here the rate continues to rise. 

At the conference, world-leading experts will share their knowledge, expertise and research. This will include the latest recommendations on preventing and treating GBS infection in babies, how to detect these infections, different test methods, the impact of neonatal GBS infection, and progress towards a maternal vaccine.

After an amazing virtual ceremony, we are excited to now announce that applications and nominations for the 2021 GSA Awards are open.

The GSA Awards honor major contributions in the fight against sepsis every year and are exclusively and kindly sponsored by the Erin Kay Flatley Memorial Foundation.

The awards are granted in three categories:

1. Governments and healthcare authorities

2. Non-Governmental organizations, patient advocate groups, or healthcare provider groups

3. Individual nominees

In addition to recognition, prestige, and of course, a beautiful trophy, winners of categories 2 and 3 are awarded $ 2,500 each.
