Join the Group B Strep in Pregnancy and Babies Virtual Conference on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021 to get right up-to-date with the key issues on group B Strep during pregnancy, labour and the early months after a baby’s birth. This is a must-see event for anyone interested in group B Strep.

Group B Strep is the most common cause of severe infection in newborn babies in the UK and many other developed countries, causing sepsis, pneumonia or meningitis, and here the rate continues to rise.

At the conference, world-leading experts will share their knowledge, expertise and research. This will include the latest recommendations on preventing and treating GBS infection in babies, how to detect these infections, different test methods, the impact of neonatal GBS infection, and progress towards a maternal vaccine.

Conference Chairs are Edward Morris (President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Chair of Trustees for Group B Strep Support) & Kathryn Gutteridge (President of the Royal College of Midwives and Trustee of Group B Strep Support).

Speakers include Carol J Baker (Professor of Pediatrics, McGovern Medical School, University of Texas, Sabin Gold Medal winner, National Academy of Sciences, USA), Prof Androulla Efstratiou (Imperial College London and Director, WHO Global Collaborating Centre for Diphtheria & Streptococcal Infections) and Prof Anne Mackie (Director of Screening for Public Health England).

Recordings of the sessions will be made available to delegates for one month after the conference. The conference is approved by the Royal College of Pathologists for 6 CPD credits.
