Tim Eckmanns

Tim Eckmanns is trained as a medical doctor and is board-certified in infection control and environmental health. He also has a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the LSHTMand a master in Medical Computer Science. He is the head of the Division for healthcare-associated infections, surveillance of antimicrobial resistance and consumption at the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the German national public health institute and head of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance, Consumption and Health Care-Associated Infections at RKI and coordinates the Quality Assessment Collaborating Centres Network at WHO. He is first and co-author of more than 200 scientific publications in the field of infectious diseases surveillance, outbreak-investigation, AMR, IPC and sepsis.

Tim Eckmanns ist ausgebildeter Mediziner und zertifiziert für Infektionskontrolle und Umweltgesundheit. Er hat außerdem einen Master of Science in Epidemiologie von der LSHTM und einen Master in Medizinischer Informatik. Er ist Leiter der Abteilung für therapieassoziierte Infektionen, Surveillance of anitmicrobial resistance and consumption am Robert-Koch-Institut (RKI), dem nationalen Institut für öffentliche Gesundheit in Deutschland, und Leiter des WHO Collaborating Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance, Consumption and Health Care-Associated Infections am RKI sowie Koordinator des Quality Assessment Collaborating Centres Network bei der WHO. Er ist Erst- und Mitautor von mehr als 200 wissenschaftlichen Veröffentlichungen auf dem Gebiet der Überwachung von Infektionskrankheiten, Ausbruchsuntersuchungen, AMR, IPC und Sepsis.
